Buyer Map: FlexPAC

Prepared for Rob Jarrett | FlexPAC | October 2026

As of Oct 6, 2026. Counts from a public list of US business locations, dated in the notes at the foot

This page maps the plants and warehouses that buy packaging, facility maintenance and safety supplies in the four states your homepage names, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky. The groups are the three your industries page lists, manufacturing, food processing, and ecommerce with fulfillment and distribution. Each group is sized from a public count of business locations by staff size, and each lists the roles that usually sign for packaging lines, floor care and safety gear. It says nothing about which of them FlexPAC already supplies.

1,500

Same four states. Beverage plants are not in this count.

Warehousing and storage locations, 10 or more staff

1,400

The code for warehouses run for other companies, fulfillment among them.

Online and mail-order retailer locations, 10 or more staff

Locations by staff size

Business locations in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky together, by the number of people working there, mid-March 2023.

Industry codes are our closest match to each group, not your definitions. One company with ten sites counts ten times. The four named manufacturing rows are the largest plant groups in these states by locations with 10 or more staff, and the all other row holds every remaining plant, from chemicals and paper to furniture and electronics, so the six plant rows add up to all manufacturing in the four states.

Illinois is left out to keep this page to the four states your homepage names. Its counts come from the same file and can be added on request.

Who signs off

The roles that usually sign for packaging, floor care and safety supplies. Titles vary by company, and at the smaller sites one owner often holds several of them.

What no public count reaches

One question this page cannot answer from a count, said in words rather than shown as a number.

Where the buying happens. A company with plants in several states may buy packaging and safety supplies at each plant or from a head office in another state, and no public list says which. The rows above count the buildings, so the person who signs for a given plant is found company by company in the named version.

Three openings

Where the counts point.

Plants with 50 to 249 staff, where a site visit reaches the people who sign.

About 6,400 manufacturing plants in the four states have 50 to 249 staff. A plant that size is one building with its own manager, so the cost review your own description offers can be walked on the floor beside the line it would change, and a result at one plant is a reference the next plant can check.

Food processors, where packaging, sanitation and safety are bought together.

About 1,500 food processing plants in the four states have 10 or more staff. Your food processing page already pairs packaging with sanitation and safety training for this group, so one visit can cover all three lines of supply.

Indiana and Ohio first, where the branches sit.

Indiana and Ohio hold about 12,000 manufacturing plants with 10 or more staff, against about 8,400 in Michigan and Kentucky together. A list worked outward from Indianapolis, Elkhart, Cincinnati and Toledo keeps every visit within driving distance of a branch.

Denominators, definitions and sources

  1. Location counts are establishments in the federal annual count of business establishments by industry, 2023, state file, all legal forms. An establishment is one physical location with paid employees. Staff is paid employees at the location in the mid-March 2023 pay period.
  2. Industry codes: 311 food manufacturing; 336 transportation equipment manufacturing; 332 fabricated metal product manufacturing; 333 machinery manufacturing; 326 plastics and rubber products manufacturing; all other manufacturing is sectors 31 to 33 less those five; 493 warehousing and storage; 454110 electronic shopping and mail-order houses. Beverage plants (3121) are not counted.
  3. The state file withholds a few of the largest size cells for confidentiality. Where it does, the withheld locations are recovered as the group total less the published cells, and every one of them falls in the 250+ column, so each row still adds up to its total.
  4. The states are the four your homepage names, and the groups are the three sectors your industries page lists. Built from public registries, counts banded deliberately. Figures of 100 and over are rounded to two significant figures, figures from 10 to 99 to the nearest ten.

The named version of this page, the actual companies inside a row, is built one row at a time. If you want to walk through a row together, pick a time at cal.com/ecg. Prepared by Paul Smaldone, paul@enquirerconsulting.com.
